2009 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Sunday:

All events to be held @ Dr. Purdy’s lot (E. Navaho St.) unless specified

7-11:00 am   Shabbona Fire Department Annual Pancake Breakfast
                     Begin your fun filled day with a great start with all you can eat pancakes and whole hog sausages!

8:00 am        Craft booths open

9:00 am        Kids or the Kid at Heart Bike Parade!
                     Come and join in or watch the spirit and excitement from Pontiac/Navaho down to Illini/Navaho and return!

10:00-3:00    Shabbona Masonic Lodge is hosting a FREE Children’s Safety Program at the Shabbona UCC Church.
                     NO records are kept; ALL information will be given to Parents or guardians.
                      Items you will receive include: DNA sample, short cd of child, fingerprints and a photo.

10:00 –3 pm  Moon Walks, Carnival Rides and Games Begin!!!
                      Fire Truck Slide sponsored and hosted by our very own Shabbona Firemen!
                      New for this year: Apple go round and a Down pour derby!

11:00 am       Food Vendors open
                      Nitecrawler’s Bar & Grill Beer Garden Opens
                      Stop in and try one of Georgia’s famous Gyro’s

12:30 pm       Bring a friend and share your excitement with our annual 4th of July PARADE!
                      This year’s theme: “Staying Strong”!

2:00 pm         An Ice Cream Eating contest sponsored by Screamers Ice Cream

2:00-3:00       Shabbona Supportive Living is hosting an Old Fashion Ice Cream Social
                      Bring A friend & A lawn chair and join them for an ice cream sundae, blue grass music and some good hospitality!

3:00 pm          Kiddie Water Fights on Navaho St. Hosted by Shabbona Fire Department

3:00 pm          Shabbona Hometown Events Committee 4th Of July Raffle Drawing
                       Tickets may be purchased at local businesses, from a committee member or at our booth.
                       Ticket price is $10 with 11 chances of winning. 1st ticket drawn wins $500 with the next 10
                       consecutive tickets drawn winning $100! GOOD LUCK!

4:00 pm           The Annual UCC Youth Fundraising Hog Raffle Drawing will be held at 4 PM in the tent on the Church grounds.
Tickets can be purchased up to the time of the drawing. If you desire a ticket(s) please call the Church Office
(815) 824-2359 and leave a message. There will be TWO winners; each receiving one half a hog AND CUSTOM PROCESSING OF THE MEAT IS INCLUDED!

4:30 pm           Need to stay strong until the Fireworks? The Lions Club will be serving their fabulous 1-2 pork chop dinners @ the Lions Depot.

8:30 pm           Dance the night away at Nitecrawlers Bar and Grill, featuring, “Blue Stone”. (Must be 21 yrs of age)

Dusk                Shabbona Fireworks Organization Presents its first dynamic show over Lake Shabbona.
                        Donations in advance can be sent to Shabbona Fireworks @ PO Box 133, Shabbona, IL 60550.
                        A donation of $10 per car is appreciated at the entrance to the Lake.

Saturday:

8-8:45am         UCC sponsors, “Church in the Park”, at the Gazebo next to the Camp Shop - All are welcome

10-4:00pm       Car Show @ Screamers Ice Cream

12:00               Registration for Shabbona Hometown Events Bags Tournament
                        $5 Per person to play. Raffle style drawing will pick partners.
                        Join us for a day that’s sure to be fun!

12:30                Bags Tournament Begins
